Tim Pawlenty (former Minnesota Guv running for the GOP Presidential bid) took a tough stand on taxes. Tax cuts for the rich and no new taxes at the state level. Our schools are suffering, property taxes are soaring, and user fees now apply for many State Services that were once free. Those services (and licenses) which had moderate fees have gone way up. Our streets and roads aren’t getting plowed in a timely manner. Our medical insurance is rising astronomically as more people are denied state Medic-Aid, forcing hospitals to raise the costs to those who can pay to cover the costs of those who cannot.

He is running for President on repealing ‘Obama-care’, Medicare and privatizing Social Security. Oh, and bigger tax cuts for the wealthiest portion of society. Maybe I want him to win. Then the Revolution will start sooner.

I don’t think there’s going to be a revolution in the sense you mean, at least not anytime soon. The Tea Party people think they’re the revolution: go out and demonstrate a few times, yell a lot, misspell some signs, and then have your putative grass roots movement taken over and directed by those who will profit enormously by exploiting you and everyone else.

It’s the American Way (and Egyptian and Ukrainian and Algerian and Ivoirian and....)
