A slice of haggis? Someone is pulling your leg – that is more likely to be a flat sausage (Lorne Sausage if you’re Irish) and the star of the show is the potato scone nestling under the black pudding (although strictly it should be under the egg to catch all the yolk)

Haggis is in no way a regular part of the Scotch diet: it’s another one of those joke things made up years ago that people around the world seem not to get: we even matched it up with the Burns supper for crying out loud!
(The sheep-shagging is also mostly myth, but there have been recorded occasions so…)
If you really want to wake up, take some leftover jambalaya and fry it up in a pan with a bit of oil. When the rice starts to get a crisp brown texture, plate it. Top with a couple of eggs sunny side up, brushed with some extreme hot sauce. Life is then good.
