Finally! About time this got addressed. Only trouble is, does “classist” roll off the tongue as easily as “racist” as the go-to accusation for conservative lefties?
I do agree with the article that Occupy has brought it to national consciousness. Let’s hope it’s not just a trendy thing people focus on, because the distance growing between social classes is not in our best interest.
I do, though, think Occupy has drawn attention. And I hope this is the catalyst we need to start doing something about it, but I’m not optimistic that we’ll be able to release ourselves from the clutch of a corporate oligarchy.
We have made our overlords. We have allowed ourselves to be sucked in by MegaCorp. (In the RoboCop series it was Omni Consumer Products). We give them everything we have because, in return, they provide us with just enough.
