I can find stories about Cynthia McKinney punching a police officer, but I can find nothing to indicate that she’s a racist, or that she lied about it.

Ah, that explains the Green Party t-shirts I saw this weekend.

I also believe that Obama was in the hipster doofus health club this weekend. I was approaching the club and there’s a big motorcade zooming out of there. Some woman said she saw Obama in the limo. Serious motorcade: 2 cop cars, 2 motorcycles, 2 security type SUVs and the limo - there might have been a second limo, as well.

I can find nothing to indicate that she’s a racist, or that she lied about it.

She claimed to have hit the officer with an open hand in the media, but the report stated it was with a closed fist. She later admitted this.

She also claimed that the security officer was a racist, because he’s white and she’s black and even though he did his job by stopping her for not wearing her badge, he’s a racist because she’d seen other people who didn’t have badges before. She then got Al Sharpton and the Black Panthers (a group notorious for hating Jews) behind her to crucify this white security guard. Her anger toward him was resulted from the fear that she’d get in trouble for assaulting him.

She’s a doll.

Wha? I read she hit him with a cell phone. All accounts say she hit him in the face with her cell phone.

Well, she lied and said it was an open hand. She may have had her fist wrapped around the cell phone to maximize the force when she hit him, I’m not sure.

I think there are some points to your argument, but the only place i can find anything nearly as vitriolic as what you’re spewing is on radically right websites. And I mean radically. Like the right’s version of Echinacea Times.

If you’re circumspect, I’d encourage you to research the story yourself. Try to find some original source material on the events rather than someone’s description. FWIW I find Spazmo’s description to be completely accurate. And fair. Maybe not be balanced though. Probably a bit off-kilter.

That would be the New Black Panther Party which is not the same as or affiliated with the Black Panthers from the 60s that disbanded in the 70s.

At the time, I did a LOT of research into this, because we were arguing about it extensively on Fark. Cynthia McKinney is not the pure soul she claims to be in this, but that security guard was acting a bit like a Nazi, too.

Sure, she was trying to blow through security without showing her credentials (she had left them in her office and had to get to a meeting or a vote), but come on. How many times has this guy seen her? He doesn’t recognize her or one of her entourage? Please. He was just being a jerk. Racist? Maybe not. But I can see somebody who is on “Racist alert” all the time, like Cynthia McKinney, thinking so.

And she’s the best possible candidate for the Green Party. She will pull ZERO votes from Obama.

Actually, that doesn’t matter, he should still stop her, and they do that to me too. I work in a federal building - Social Security Administration’s Headquarters. One of the security guards knows me well. He’s from North Carolina too. We talk about how much we hate Duke.

Every time I come through - he scans me for weapons with the metal detector wand and makes me empty out my pockets. It’s been going on for 18 months or so. That’s actually how it is in a Federal Building. What he did wasn’t out of line at all, NOT doing it would have been negligent.

Sadly the Green Party (like Greenpeace) has been taken over by folks with extreme, non-scientific political points of view. The net result is that Joe and Josie Blow see these groups as irrational and irrelevant and ignores not only the parties, but the underlying actual environmental issues.

I’ll grant you nuclear is a more and more viable grid-based option compared to fossil fuels, Dimmer, but what about transportation energy needs. We can’t have cars that run on plutonium. So, what’s the best alternative? Electric? Fuel cells?

The whole problem with electric is that there are no “filling stations” or “battery exchange stations” or whatever.

You know what they said as late as WWII, when they were talking about motorizing the cavalry and getting rid of horses?

If they wanted to do this, they could. We are country run by oil-men, though, so it’s not going to happen.

That’s what she did, and then used race to get out of taking the blame. It was an unconscionable series of decisions she made.
