The Republican party is pretty much destroying itself in Minnesota these days. While the state is facing a financial meltdown and shutdown, they have failed to make any attempt to compromise on a budget. Instead their efforts have centered on legalizing discrimination in our state by passing a Constitutional amendment onto the 2012 ballot to ban gay marriage. Currently, public sentiment is 54% against passage,33% for passage. Meanwhile, our State Parks, unemployment services, courts, prisons, etc are facing shut downs, or sever shortages and cutbacks.

I really hope the backlash spreads nationwide.

We’ve got pretty much the same type of crap going on here: State Park closures, total intransigence on budget problems, waste of time “initiatives” that are sideshows at best. We are in serious shit and the state politicos are acting like it’s gasbag business as usual.
