I love that song you’re referencing. It always seems kind of forlorn and creepy to for some reason (even though it’s supposed to be about flower children and stuff).

When I visit my parents (the only time I play the piano) I sometimes play San Francisco. I’m not sure why other than it’s simple and I remember it. It’s not intended to be forlorn or creepy. I’ll also play Killing Me Softly and 59th Street Bridge Song. My piano instructors thought sixties and seventies pop music was a nice diversion from the usual classical fare.
