"Many people in the West love their dogs more than their wives and children,"

In Iran, only adult males are considered to be people? Or is it in the West that only adult men are considered people?

I do believe many women and children in this part of the world are people, and some of them even own dogs.

I love how the world is progressing in thes modern era.
