I sort of get the feeling he feels like he’s sucked at campaigning lately anyway.

"It’s my belief that this is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsible for dealing with this mess,” Obama said in a news conference in Clearwater, Fla. “It’s going to be part of the president’s job to deal with more than one thing at once."

ya think?

It’s been reported that McCain might well be the swing vote on the bailout. My guess is he didn’t know anything about the plan and figured he had to stop his campaign anyway to get up to date, so why not try to get Obama to stop his campaign as well?

McCain is also trying to say “There’s no time to place the blame! We must solve this crisis!” And then he starts waving the flag.

Sound familiar? It’s Bush all over again. Sheesh.

McCain said he is calling on President Bush “to convene a meeting with the leadership from both houses of Congress, including Senator Obama and myself. It is time for both parties to come together to solve this problem."

Huh? So Rubber Johnny expects the Dems to once again restore a fucked up economy to health (see: Reagenomics)? Why the hell should fixing the GOP’s problems fall to other folks?

OK, so if they don’t allow people with sense in, it’ll go to hell—but this stinks of the big final hurrah of BushCorp to their corporate sponsors.
