I think the world has become germaphobic. Not saying that we should through away all sanitation, but we should expose ourselves to a few minor germs to keep our immune system sharp.
Oh, secretly you know that you do, but only if it’s fresh.
I always at least rinse, but if the soap dispenser looks like it’s not seen soap itself in years I may pass (if I’ve only peed). But what’s the first thing you do once you’ve washed and dried your hands? Stick ‘em on a door handle that you know some troggie who has taken no efforts at cleanliness whatsoever. Ugh.
That said, I’m not germophobic. AFter all, my dad was German.
I think a more important time to wash your hands is after you handle money. Have you seen where people carry that stuff? Years back I read that all $ bills have a testable level of cocaine on them, so changes are pretty good that dollar has been stuck up somebody’s nose.
Also I noticed the smellier the bathroom the more thoroughly I wash. It’s not so much my germs I fear, it’s whats smeared on the door latch.
