X-Plane does everything MS/FS ever did and more (with a few niggles here and there)--this may have been a smart move on MS’s part, as, for example, you can’t run a flight sim on an xBox.

(Kinda off-topic, the first flight sim I ever used was a mess called “Jumbo 747” (or something like that) on the BBC Model B Microcomputer. The game simulated one equipment panel. That was it. The manual got all snotty about how “Real pilots don’t fly by following rivers or railway lines! They use their instruments!”—it made for the most boring experience ever. Oh, and it only ran in real time, so you could enjoy a London to Glasgow trip in about 60 minutes. 60 minutes looking at shitty little dials and numbers. Such fun!)
