Ha! What a bunch of fools. They think they have an issue on this drilling business. Most Americans now know that there is plenty of oil, the price is just high to make record profits for the oil companies.

This is NOT the late 70s. This is greed.

Oops! Obama actually has a reasoned response to the oil drilling business:

“‘If, in order to get that passed, we have to compromise in terms of a careful, well thought-out drilling strategy that was carefully circumscribed to avoid significant environmental damage - I don’t want to be so rigid that we can’t get something done,’ Obama said.”

More: “[H]e told the Post he would be open to expanding the current drilling boundaries if it meant winning approval for more fuel-efficient cars, developing alternative energy sources and making the country more ‘energy independent.’”

“‘I think it’s important for the American people to understand we’re not going to drill our way out of this problem,’ he said. ‘It’s also important to recognize if you start drilling now you won’t see a drop of oil for ten years, which means its not going to have a significant impact on short-term prices. Every expert agrees on that.’”

Thanks for that, Moon. I hadn’t heard that response.

I don’t (contrary to popular belief) love EVERYthing that Obama does. But man, sometimes he just says stuff and I’m like, yeah. finally somebody said it. It’s such a nice change from, say, Kerry, would’ve hemmed and hawed and delivered something so inarticulate and three-tomer that it was indecipherable.

I do hope he wins.

Conversation with the REALLY conservative family went this way: “Out of three candidates (including Hillary in this), not one of them are good.

So apparently they don’t love McCain.

I think it’s important for the American people to understand

Yup, but they don’t: gas prices are seen as a bigger problem by a ratio of three to one over global warming. Such a shame.

True. But if we can use gas prices as a lever to address some of the things that are causing global climate change, I’m all for it.
