Working for a company in Chapter 11, I can foresee a couple areas of concern. Pencil pushers and number crunchers will be assigned to maximize returns and minimize expenses. Programs deemed unnecessary or frivolous will be cut or eliminated. First off, maintenance and inspection of facilities will be limited to the absolute minimum required by state and federal law. Staffing will be cut to the point where all employees will be asked to do ‘a little bit extra’ to help get through the crisis. This will mean customers will receive less personal attention, and possibly have a less favorable view of the facilities than they have in the past.

Another big area that will be cut is housekeeping. Ground crew and janitors will be some of the first to go, their duties assigned to other ‘more essential’ employees. The toilets will not have the sparkle, the tables near the food vendors will not have the shine, and by the end of the season, weeds will be growing in areas visible to the patrons. Essentially, the cuts and savings will drive customers to find alternative venues in which to spend their entertainment dollars.

The end is near.

Every time I go to Six Flags, half the rides are closed.

Disney and Six Flags used to have the screeners to review the automatic pictures taken of riders coming down the log ride. These people were laid off about six month ago so you can now flash with merry abandonment.
