Monday evening, while driving in a residential area, the wife and I stopped at a stop sign. The cross street is a through street, designated as a fire/emergency vehicle route. The speed limit is 30 mph. There is a gentle curve off to our right on the cross street. I looked right, left and then right again, then proceeded through the intersection. Then the wife screamed. A full sized van was coming through the corner at probably 65-70 mph. I floored it and made it though the intersection before I slowed back down. The van continued on its way without slowing down. I don’t think it ever even saw us. It was kinda scary.
They were coming so fast, the only thing I was concerned with was getting out of their way. Driving that fast in a residential area is pure asshole behavior, in my humble opinion.
