Meanwhile, a whole group of neo-con asshole who started to useless wars costing over 6000 Coalition servicemen their lives (as well as over 1,000,000 Iraqi deaths) continue to live happy lives and laugh ath the American public for being so stupid.
Man, this just makes me sad as hell.
First of all, stupid sonofabitch.
Second of all, in the grand scheme of stuff that matters, why does this matter? I’m as big a fan of a weiner joke as the next 5th grader, but it shouldn’t be worth your damn job. I think this guy was one of the good ones. He just let things get a little “out of hand” as it were.
Yeah, he was good: pretty progressive, fought for the right things. Real expert on the “rules” of the house and knew how to use them against blathering “just say no” reps.
Weiner lied boldly and repeatedly and asked others to lie on his behalf. He had to go. While the cynic in us knows all ploticians lie, we cannot allow this to be excused. One needs to be able to trust what their representative is telling them.
If he had been candid about his douchey pathetic behaviour then, in that case, he should not resign. It would be up to his constituents to decide whether they gave a crap about that stuff relative to the work he does.
I agree that he had to go. I just feel like, if the shoe were on the other foot, the Republicans would be defending their guy. Possibly I’m wrong; I’m certainly biased.
But, yes, obstruction of justice is the real issue, particularly in that he asked others to be complicit. He has lost all credibility, and the Democrats are better off without him.
