Capture him? Fine. Prosecute him? Fine. Prove guilt and jail for life fine. Maybe even death sentence fine. But follow the freaking rules or we’re as bad as anyone else.

I’m fine with killing him. We’re at war.

Also, he’s not a young drafted soldier who did what his country told him. He’s a guy on TV publicly rallying for the death of me and anyone like me.

I am all for habeas corpus, but when somebody points a gun at me, I don’t pull out the constitution.

But he has no gun, just words. Have we any idea if he, personally, has killed anyone? Is he an “imminent threat”? Nope.

Given that we (the US) are dealing with Al Queda diplomatically wrt Afghanistan, these saber rattling statements just make those undertakings more difficult. We desperately need to get out of all of our wars if we want to survive, economically or in any other way.

But I take your point LP: if someone is standing before you, armed, and ready to kill you—shoot first.

he has no gun, just words He’s giving orders to god knows how many impoverished, suicidal teenagers that as many of us should die as possible. That’s his gun.

Imminent threat? Hell yes.
