12:34 PM | | Bertucci’s, depending on location, makes a damn good pizza.
I guess Clyde’s is sort of a chain in the DC area, but their Reston location is one of my favorite restaurants ever.
I really hate Ruby Tuesday’s. It’s so...unsanitary. And their food is crap, and it’s so dark and depressing in their.

01:00 PM | | Spazmo and I have visited a few of these because he lives in mall-land.
I like Cheesecake factory.
Dave’s Famous BBQ is good ONLY if you get the memphis dry-rub ribs.
PF Changs used to be good but the food has gotten just way too salty.
And as you know, I hate the Olive Garden.
At Macaroni Grill, our waitress came out and detailed for us just how unsanitary the kitchen was. Thanks for that.

01:32 PM | | Dimmer and I like Black Angus though the service is occasionally… weird. Like there was this one waitress who would not shut UP about trying to get us to order alcohol (Oh, you don’t want that kind; well, let me offer you this kind. no? well how about...) And out of all the times that I have ordered only a salad or appetizer, only once did the waitress bring that with dimmer’s dinner. All the other times, I got my food LONG before he got his.
But it’s tasty food.
I like Pizz’A Chicago. Good local multi-location restaurants are University Chicken (formerly Cluck U and soon to be Fire Eaters - WTF) and the Holder’s Country Inns.

01:46 PM | | We just had a terrible experience as a TEXAS ROADHOUSE. It took over an hour to get our food on a Monday.
We generally like HARD TIMES CAFE - but that is only a regional chain. They have half-price brews (including a minimum of 3 rotating microbrews that aren’t Sam Adams) and Margaritas during Happy Hour and cheap wing and appetizer specials as well.
Also regionally, I like Red, Hot & Blue - but for take out only, you can get a serious meal for four people for about $20 from the takeout counter.

02:36 PM | | My dislike for supporting McDonald’s aside, I like the food at Chipotle. It’s fresh, and the meats are from animals supposedly raised without hormones or antibiotics. I don’t think of it at all as Mexican food - it’s just Chipotle.
I like Potbelly’s subs, expeshully the turkey on wheat, which I get with extra hot peppers.
Ok...least favorite chains...ditto on the Olive Garden - fookin’ horrible. I don’t particularly like Subway, but it does the job for cheap.
I went to Fogo de Chao (I think that’s a chain) recently. Even though I skipped the salad bar and passed on everything but the ribeye and lamb, I still gorged myself to the point of being in real pain. It’s pretty good food, but I don’t think I’m going to eat there again. For the same money, I can get better food with sane portion sizes.

03:34 PM | | Bob Evan’s biscuits are good but a visit there will leave you feeling major sorts of queasy.
And whatever you do, avoid the pancakes with cream-stuff in the middle. It’s not just that they’re terrible for you, it’s that they’re terrible.
