The “softball” that smacked me in the head back in school was neither weak nor sensitive. Nor soft.

I’ve never had any head pain related to vaginas, although I’ve seen some cunning stunts.

Anyone who enjoys comedy about petty lawbreakers, drunks, vulgarity and bare-chested fat guys offering blow-jobs for $10 (Canadian) should check out “The Trailerpark Boys” (on Netflix, probably elsewhere).

We’re still in a “Confused” state, weatherwise: somedays warm and sunny, somedays overcast and rainy. Temperatures are down some though, which is kinda good.

So, by mid to late November we should be starting to see some Autumn. Freaky.

Almost all of our color is gone, as are most of the leaves. Temps are 5-10 degrees above normal. Our overnights are are only dropping down to the mid 30s and our daytime highs are getting into the upper 40s. I miss summer already.

I do love the festive autumn colors in my yard this year. We’ve had a record breaking dry year, and the deciduous trees are really putting on a show.

This past weekend, while delivering hot, cheesy goodness to people, I noticed a number of customers either were in the process of decorating/admiring their Christmas trees. The grocery stores have candy canes, holiday fruit bowls, and assorted tree ornaments on display. I do detest me some commercialism.

I’m not a fan of memoirs generally but James Wolcott’s Lucking Out: My Life Getting Down and Semi-Dirty in Seventies New York is a good read if you’re interested in the subject matter.

A Polar Bear should have had no trouble with such a situation.

I’ve been growing my hair and beard; and the roses outside are going off the bloom, so I was thinking of dressing up in sack cloth, the wife’s sandals, and just going around knocking on people’s doors to freak them the fuck out.

(I had a similar look in college at one point, but didn’t know it until Jamie (who you remember from a long story long ago right?) pointed it out. I told him if he knelt before me and opened his mouth I’d be glad to show him the “Second Coming”.

50mcg/hour of Fentanyl to zero in four weeks. Great going on getting off the drug but my fucking back still fucking hurts like hell because nothing else has been done about it.

Oh, and no “de-tox” drug, because that would have messed with my useless fucking Zoloft…

I love life.

I don’t take Loritab. I do have a friend who is an oxycot-head in a recovery program. Lortab was one of the drugs that was used to detox him. It took a couple of months more to ween him off the new shit, but he has been clean about 5 years.

Loritab? I didn’t know it could prolong life, just make it feel longer. I’ve never known anyone to do well with the stuff. Sorry. Didn’t mean to judge.

I’ve spent my weekend being phone-tormented by a loritab addict who thinks I can reunite her with her former coke partner. I have no pull with former coke partner, so am not sure why I’m being targeted. I’m disconnecting my phone this week. Pills are bad, mkay? I mean seriously! But the weather was extravagantly great.

Part of the problem is that we have made it through very lean times without capital investment. Now that business is picking up (on the international side) trying to meet customers demands without the latest and greatest technology is proving to be a huge challenge.

Fortunately, our customers have enough faith in us that they are starting to invest in us, and we hope to be caught up in the game (or at least only a couple of years behind) by the end of the year. And hopefully a former Mexican customer (who we are in price negotiations now) will be returning with a major contract in 2012.

Sounds hellish gloveshot.

We really need to get to a decent wage for everyone and a four day week (like we were promised a few decades back)—fix unemployment and make a major dent in poverty all at once.

But we’d probably need strong Unions for that, and we know everyone hates those for… what was it again…?

Maybe time to take a day or two off, if that’s feasible for you both. But yes, I remember back when I was working weekends were way too short—and with 24x7x365 pager duty for the Apple/Pixar/CEO’s network, I never really felt “off the hook”.

Thankfully the network design and installation were created by Tom Lojewski and myself: so problems were very, very rare.

We went out with some friends (man, woman, child) to a steak joint. The food was delicious, the child adorable, nice time had by all. Other than that we did a lot of errands, and some cleaning, and Spazmo was very patient when I broke down and began whining that weekends aren’t long enough. I should be more positive. Being unemployed was the suck.

So, how’s everyone’s weekend going? I’ve had a very dull time, so let me live vicariously through you.

Did watch a lot of Trailer Park Boys on Netflix: I have no idea why I find it so compelling other than maybe unlike most sit-coms everything is ridiculous and the scripts are 50% vulgarity.

Okay, now I’m just fucking depressed. Thanks, Tap. I wish you were wrong. Thanks.

Sorry my post was so dire and depressing. It’s remarkable to me that roughly half the U.S. population is prepared to support the Republican economic agenda when that agenda is demonstrably not in the individual interest of probably 90-95% of the population. I guess it’s that magic elixir. If you are rich and powerful the way to beguile the masses is to put on the façade of Christian conservatism and play to faith. The Christian God presumably wants them to stay rich or get richer and everyone else to stay poor or get poorer.

This won’t cheer you up but it’s apropos.
